What leads a person to be good over evil or vise versa? I know people cross back and forth across the line everyday all day. But, what about the people that are truly good or truly evil? What drives them to do what they do and deal with how they feel? Taking time to help someone put groceries in their car, helping the well known old lady across the street, or stopping along the side of a busy highway for someone having car trouble? On the other hand what about people that steal, rape, or kill? These rioters are what I consider to be on the evil side of the line as they do not care who they hurt or kill or what gets destroyed. Innocent people's businesses were destroyed. Countries where they commit genocide, allow persecution of people with different color skin or religious background. So much evil in the world, battling the good in a never ending battle.
Good vs Evil (which side do you consider yourself)?
Well their are two types of "good" people, those who are good because they are afraid of the consequences and the good who believe in doing what is right because they have seen the darkness in themselves and have rejected and tamed it. One poses as good one is good.
As for myself, I am the latter, I have seen how awful things can be, I have experienced it and I would not wish that upon anyone. So I make the attempt to do what is right because I do not wish to add to the evils of this world (its like a disease, you do evil and that increases not just the suffering of others but the probability that they will do evil, it spreads it like a virus. It gets passed on from parent to child, significant other to significant other etc.).
Part of that is being a friend when people need one even if you don't really know them, part of it is speaking the truth even when people don't want to hear it (and they rarely do. What we want to hear is never what we need to hear). Its also encouraging others to be better then what they are not simply condemning them (you condemn them for a wrong doing but leave them no way of leaving that path and all you have done is encourage them to commit more wrongs. For example "once a thief always a thief", if that is your attitude you have now given them no way out so the only option for them is to continue to do wrong because they believe their is no other path for them to take.).
Good and Evil is rare. Like its something i think dumb people say to make themselves feel better or rally a mob. Of course everyone wants to be good, but to be an actual good person 100% gets you screwed over because you sacrifice some of yourself for others, and if you're 100% good you don't live for yourself you live to please others. But that's not saying people who think "I'm EVIL" are cool, being evil is anti-social as fuck and lame, in practice people will not trust you if you're evil and you don't get shit done.
People should look at it as a percentage and you should aim to be 70% good and 30% evil so you don't get stepped on and actually have a personality.

How about donating money anonymously? Or helping an old woman who’s not well known? Ethics questions are more interesting without preconceived ideas of absolute good or evil.
