Absolutely not. Speaking from my own personal experience, sometimes ending a friendship is the only way to get over and move on from a crush that rejects you.
I've never rejected a guy, but I've been on the receiving end... many, many, MANY times. I've had to end said friendships after they rejected me because it's hard staying friends with a guy that sees you as just a friend or sister, yet they're asking you should they date or sleep with another girl :|

I expect my friends to be friends with me because they like and respect me. Not fake interest in my personality because they are hoping I will date them one day. If a guy does not like my personality enough to be my friend when we are not dating, then they don't appreciate me enough to deserve me as their girlfriend.

Not at all. That's the right thing to do. If I show my interest towards someone and that person rejects me I don't see the point in keeping with touch with them.
