Do you believe that Google is tracking us on our cell phones?

I do. The day my boyfriend died I texted some people to let them know of his passing. I wrote his first name in the messages.
The very next day I received several pictures all strung together of him, and a beautiful guitar so in the background as I was looking at his pictures Google sent me without me asking for them. It just appeared as a message from Google. I was shocked that they would do that in the first place and not even 24 hours after he died they sent me all of these "Memory" pictures and music. They call it memories.
They got his pictures from my "photos".
Do you find this as strange as I do?

Thats not a belief, that is a knowing for certain. I have cut those things out of my phone but if anyone else has a doubt https://myactivity.google.com has the proof. They will probably list your entire location history, copies of your voice if you used speech to text, etc.

Absolutely!! I don't know about it being google but I KNOW whoever it is, they're tracking you all! There's also hidden cameras and mics in your TV and computer screens that allow then to track and record you.

Of course they do, and it's absolutely NOT any kind of secret. Moreover, you have AGREED to allow this - at some point you clicked "I Agree" without reading what you were agreeing to, and so they can do this.

Now, to be fair, Google is better than anyone else at allowing you to turn off these features - it's just that most people don't ever bother, and that's what they count on. The reason Google (or Facebook or Apple or Amazon, etc.) can provide so many "free" services is because they use your data for marketing, and they make the money that way. If everyone turned these features off, all of these "free" services would quickly turn into paid services.

If you think Google is nefarious, you should know that Facebook/Meta (which includes Instagram and WhatsApp) is FAR, FAR worse, and the absolute worst is TikTok, which sends ALL of your data to China. This has been proven many times by people using network sniffers to see the data that gets sent back to the CCP, and it's simply insane the data that gets sent back - TikTok is really massive Chinese spyware that happens to also show videos.

Anything and everything digital is tracking you. Cell phones, computers, credit cards, your car, security cameras, microphones, the websites you visit, your internet service provider, etc. If it has a computer chip inside of it, it is tracking you.

Well, whomever "They" are, they are going to be mighty busy tracking the 10 million more cellphones that were given to the illegals. THEY are the one's they should be tracking. Not little old ladies from Pasadena!

Advertising, mostly. All of that information various companies collect about you from those various devices track your spending habits, your interests, your likes/dislikes, your traveling, etc. down to very fine details so that they're able to create a pretty accurate profile of who you are as a person. Then those companies either use that information to sell you stuff or sell your information to other companies so that they can sell you stuff. That's why websites like girlsaskguys, facebook, instagram, etc. are all free to use. Your information is very very valuable to advertisers so that's how they make their money.

Then you also have government agencies like the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc. that also keep tabs on that information to track criminals and people who they suspect of wrong think and I believe most likely to tailor their propaganda by identifying trends and responses to psyops they perform. It's very easy for them to do. That's just the tip of the iceberg too. There's a reason why intelligence agencies are known as "spooks". It's spooky what they are capable of.

I'm with you, but government agencies and corporations have their own priorities and judging by how little is done about illegal aliens, I don't think they're a priority.

Well yeah, when you download apps and stuff it's in the agreements and permissions. If you have an Android phone, then you are automatically signed up to have Google back up your photos, and the periodically send you memories of people you frequently have pictures of.

There is no app. I had nothing to do with this, it was Google doing it without my permission.
They must have known he died because I texted people and told them he died. That's how they knew and I wrote his name of course.

timing odd. they do send stuff to me peroidically without request, so yes, they are tracking a lot of stuff. specifically voice calls, don't know. definitely gps location.

The algorithms running the software will pick up suddenly changes and magnify them. It's one reason I don't like sharing my phone with my wife - we have very different footprints online.

@sage2021I. If you use Facebook maybe someone tagged a picture of you. Or you have probably listed your name on your phone while ordering something or sending an email to someone. Nothing is secure anymore in this digital age! I am told that if you know where to look. You can find anything about anyone!

All I can think of is because of political things I have said on this website. I don't do any other social media. Maybe it's this website tracking everyone are reporting us to God knows who? It's scary.
Google has since then sent me more pictures of he and I together hugging and titled it with my real name. How did they know that picture was me and not some other girl. It said both of our names at the top. Some come with acoustic guitar playing softly.
It really freaked me out that I turn my phone on and there are pictures of deceased boyfriend again!
Google wants to get into the photo business I guess.
They have totally messed up my photos by grouping certain one's together. I wish they had just left my pictures the way I had them. 🤬

Didn’t you notice that if you visit one place regularly after a week or month your phone will either give you direction to go there.
Or notify you.

If you sheath on Google , you will get YouTube commercials of that item regularly , no matter if you have logged in Google or not, it uses wifi to find what you are searching
