You can't be 100% Italian because no one was just born in Italy and started a family out of nowhere.
When they say 100% it's more just a formal general answer to someone who really hasn't had much changes from that Africa to said other region change.
Now how common is that? Hmm quite common tbf. Lots of family's due to racism, culture etc refused to expand outwards, it's well knitted families. Which aren't that rare of a thing.16 Reply

Oh yeah and another thing that heavily impacts it is how much that country has been invaded and wars. Us for example England welp French, Norse, Roman, so we just are a mix of everything especially when you consider Irish and Scottish to be separate.
I think Italy was invaded by French but I am not show much that effected things tbh. And of course Nazi's did too so Germanic and French influences could be in hand to making that 100% less but I doubt they intermingled that much. I know the Nazi's didn't really stay around long enough to immigrate that much but they did impact a lot politically.
Asker+1 yAll I know is that there's too much cheek clapping going around we are losing track π

+1 yEuropeans have a different mentality on genetics than Americans. Usually anything between 50% is irrelevant. Also, "Italian" is a nationality, not an ethnicity or a race. Italians are already mixed. They can have characteristics they consider "ethnically Italian", but there really isn't such thing as "pure Italian", as Italians are mutts.
I know I have a small amount of Irish in me and most certainly some other stuff, but as far as I'm concerned I'm 100% Polish. No race is really pure, except maybe some Bantus in southern Africa and some tribes in Ethiopia where life originated from

Impossible. Even back then they weren't 100%
Too many kingdoms in the past would conquer lands and colonize them through out the world. That it's most likely ever country in every world have a little something something in them from other countries when they ruled.
Like in italy there is a small island off of it where the people there are considered one of the most beautiful people in the world. Because they were originally Italian ruled. Then moors of africa, then spain, then french, and Sicilian which is mixed with a bunch of races from invasions. And back to italian ruled

+1 yNot in the western world for sure.
But I think countries that have kept to their roots and cultures ( aka North Korea)
Being mixed with something else is pretty common I feel like. I can count maybe 5 generations back when that was βpureβ but my parents are different cultures, my grandparents are also different cultures and background +3 more 😂
My partner is from one similar country to one of my parents but heβs also Indonesian on his dadβs side. Our family reunions are pretty interesting.15 Reply

I guess you would have to go to someplace like that one isolated inhabited island that keeps killing anyone that comes to it.
Otherwise that is just not how humans operate. Cultures are not isolated, they bleed into each other all the time and likewise genetically we keep mixing. There is no "pure" example anywhere. It just becomes a question of how close you want to define something like culture or ancestry rather than there being a strict definition.13 Reply
Asker+1 yYea the tribes and shit, someone else brought that up as well π
- +1 y
I dont think even normal isolated tribes would apply. There are definitely people going between tribes normally. Maybe not normally but over hundreds of years, definitely. The North Sentinel Island might literally be the one and ONLY exception to this since they are quite literally geographically isolated and incredibly hostile to everyone that has tried to contact them. Probably also your best chance of finding a different human race since just like with ancestry and culture, we keep "mixing" races and preventing an actual split in the human race.
Asker+1 yProbably but I don't know lol

+1 ySo culture and genetics are too different things, but assuming you meant "of only one ethnicity" it would depend on where you are located at the time of asking that, as how rare/common it is will vary drastically.
However one could argue its non existent, as even people who are said to be one ethnicity, that ethnicity is still a mix of other ethnicities.11 Reply

+1 yI am one of them, pure East Indian. I mean I have not run a test but by my family tree, it seems like no one married someone out of East India, not even from different state/province.

- +1 y
I mean I don't have any reason to run such test because it's already confirmed that I'm my dad's child only lol, but I'll surely do that sometime due to curiosity.
Asker+1 yWell these tests aren't made for people that are uncertain of being their parents, it's just to see all the cultures they are a mix of lol
- +1 y
Well, I said what my Asian parents would think if I say about this. I'm sure their reaction will be like
"Don't you trust your ancestors? Do you think they would lie about their blood?"
Everything is a waste of money unless it brings food on table.
Asker+1 yLmao you sure they aren't part Italian, that food on the table part sounds like a very Italian thing to say, you know your parents well tho π
- +1 y
Do I look Italian? I'm going to be kidnapped by Italian mafia for this but... I dip ginger bread in coke. It's weird but tastes good.
You're forgetting Asian parents are quite... inflexible when comes to money, especially in India, no matter if you're well off or not.
Asker+1 yTo be fair you don't look Italian but might have some Italian in ya, it's why we are speaking of the ancestry test π
And I guess every culture has their cheapskates, I just know Italians have it on their default settings π- 3 mo
She ain't got no Italian in her give her a slice of pizza see what happens.

Asker+1 yYea I doubt it too, if they even exist at all
Talking about a single genetic origin and Italy is something that cannot be in the same sentence. Italy is the most genetically heterogeneous country in Europe and more genetically heterogeneous than Europe itself, excluding Italy.
There is no mafia culture, since the mafia as we know it today is an invention of the US. The Sicilian mobsters who immigrated to America became what they are by learning from the Anglo/Americans and the Irish and then brought it to Italy.00 Reply- 522 opinions shared on Other topic.
