The ONLY reason I would NOT shake hands with ANYONE, no matter WHAT colour they are is because it was originally a form of distrust. Two members of two opposing warring parties would meet face to face for a con-fab and they'd shake hands first to shake loose any kind of weapon the other might be hiding under their sleeve! Basically, it says, "I don't trust you, I need to check for hidden weapons". Why would I want to start a new friendship by telling them that I don't trust them?

Yes, they are African, they are NOT African American. That would mean they had to have been born in Africa and then came to America. If they were born in America, they are American! It makes no difference what colour they are.
I am of Scottish, Irish. German, Slovak descent but, I don't call myself a Scots Irish German Slovak American. I was born in American, that make me an American.
