Why are pitbulls so cuddly?

I always thought that they are scary but in reality they are so cuddly and so sweet!

Pitbulls are "made" scary by people who only share the negativities of them online. So yeah online Pitbulls are scary, killing machines who will rip out your organs and eat your raw meat. Not to mention what they will do to your children right? Just like some others already said here. If you beat up your pitbull or don't properly train & love it. It will be a harmfull animal. Just like what would happen to a German Sheppard or an Bordorcolli. Bad owner or bad experiences will lead to bad dogs. Just the same as humans. Bad parents or bad experiences often lead to bad people when they grow up. Do you think most murderers, schoolshooters or other criminalsbecame like this because their parents give them love and a good life? No, most of them had a shitty life, a lot of mental issues or were abused.

Most Pitbulls I've seen where affectionate and cuddly friends with almost the same energy as a labrador puppy. Simply because the owners where training them properly and gave them the love they need.

Of course, like any breed, a pit bull's behavior is greatly influenced by their upbringing, training, and socialization. A well-socialized and well-trained pit bull is usually a very friendly and gentle dog, which might explain why the ones you've met are so cuddly and sweet!

Their muscular build and strong appearance might make them look intimidating to some, but many pit bulls are just big softies at heart.

The pit bulls I've been around would rip your fucking head off if they weren't restrained.

Cuddly? No. They should all have a bullet in the head and take that breed out of the gene pool.

There is a good reason why that breed has legal restrictions in so many places. It's not because of prejudice, it's because of statistics. They aren't bred to be cuddly.

People claim "It's not the dog, it's the dog owner". Odd how they don't say that about other breeds.

Pittys get a bad reputation because of shitty owners mistreating them and raising them to fight. They are a very strong breed. But ultimately they are just big puppies and will just want to love you to death. One of my friends has a pittbull named Satan. This dog will plant his butt on you till you give him some bootie scratches, then he'll just lay down next to you looking all happy 😊

Some XL bullys can just turn at anytime but so can any dog but they have been branded most dangerous dog that's why there banned in the UK they have killed people before for no reason no matter how they are brought up but you must have proper leads nice strong ones certain stuff and i recan it shoukd be ok I'm positive not all of them are bad

Unless they were intentionally trained to be fierce, Pitbulls are essentially loveable like nearly every other domesticated dogs.

Pitbulls can sense the animal lover in me and then immediately warm up to me, allowing me to cuddle them.

So you can let your guard down and they will get their first taste of blood and do what they are bread for, which is attacking and killing. I have been around 2 pit bulls and they never attacked me, but it doesn't mean it isn't in them to do so. I will never trust that breed.

I volunteered at my local humane society; a place that takes care of stray dogs/cats and helps them rehabilitate to find homes. After dealing with some pit bulls I can say they are the most sweetest and misunderstood breed. I’ve never had problems with them.
They are very very very loyal so when they are raised by the wrong people they become bad dogs. Everything bad about them is taught from previous owners.

There is nothing wrong with the Pit Bull as a breed. It is down to the owners and their training/socialising, I've owned them in the past and they are a loyal breed, mine were trained to defend my younger sisters and my nieces, but like most breeds they need to be worked/exercised to burn off their excess energy, if not they can become a handful.

I read somewhere that they used to be used as "nanny dogs" a lot, as they'd come get people when the babies cried. I'd love one when we get to the point we can have one, but alas, my partner wants german shepherds XD

We do need to ask: WHY this breed over and over and over. Why aren't' there as many poodle attacks, Irish Wolfhound attacks, Labrador retriever attacks, etc.

Why are most serious injuries and fatalities pits or pit-mixes?

At some point, don't we have to admit: "it's the breed"?

Yesss I absolutely love pitbulls! They get a very bad rep but they are adorable! I know a family who has 3 of them and been there for years. They been around the children since newborns and they meet the kids in the front yard for the evening bus drop off.

they are just normal dogs. a dogs behavior is mostly determined by their owner. you can make any dog super aggressive or dangerous. or super nice and cuddly.

They are very cuddly as proven by this video because their skin is soft, warm and they are child like in terms of how they behave. Easily influenced by those who they love and learn from... and as we know not all humans are cuddly.
