Having to go tell a spouse or loved one that despite doing everything we possibly could do that their loved one has passed.
The worst one that will stick with me forever is letting a mother know that her son passed away, it was an overdose, on Mother's Day morning.
I had to take a minute or so before I told her to compose myself.
It's the not fun part of the job, but it has to be done.
As ranking officer it falls on me, and sadly I am good at it.
I'm sure the families appreciate it, but it still sucks.

The key to "winning" a debate isn't in making the opposition change their mind. It's in making the mind up of all who list that we're on the fence. This is whybi say my peace and that that. I know the argumentative that isn't going to change his mind and I don't care how wrong he is. Everyone else can see it.

I was 23 the first time in my life that I was completely alone. It was and is the most dreadful 20 minutes of my life. I haven't been alone again for almost 20 years since then but In my old age I can see being alone as a blessing maybe.
