Have you ever fainted when shocked? What was the reason?

When my father died I got up in the middle of the night to pee. When I was outside the bathroom everything started to go black. I called for my wife because I was afraid I would fall down the stairs.

my sister fainted of heat stroke at a kite festival when we were really young. i haven't fainted myself. passed out quite a bit though!
