+1 yTo be completely honest, yes.
I've heard all of the motivational quotes and stuff that say things like:
"Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times."
"I asked for strength, God gave me difficulties to strengthen me. For wisdom, God gave me problems to solve. For prosperity, God gave me the ability to work. For courage, God gave me danger to overcome."
"The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials." "Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength." "Out of difficulties grow miracles." "Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which, in prosperous circumstances, would have lain dormant." "The oak fought the wind and was broken, the willow bent when it must and survived." "The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph." "Difficulties strengthen the mind, as labor does the body." "The only way to handle life's challenges is by facing them."
Even knowing that challenges in life make me stronger, I'd still rather have an easy life. I wouldn't say I was born poor or into poverty, and I am thankful for my upbringing and family around me, but who wouldn't want to to be born rich? Who wouldn't want to have connections that make life easy? Who wouldn't want "a small loan of $1 million" when starting a business? Who wouldn't want to take years off to travel the world and have fun because they're so rich that doing that wouldn't put a dent in the bank? Who wouldn't want to not have to worry about their family's health and happiness in life or having to work a long time?
Although I'm lucky in a lot of ways, it's human nature to always want more than what they have. I would choose the easy life hands down.10 Reply

+1 yNot exactly, but it would be nice to be free of unexpected challenges. We can learn just as much from challenging ourselves as we learn from lightning strikes. I don’t need my car to break down on the freeway on my way to work to learn the importance of financial planning and routine maintenance. But that’s how a lot of us learned! Ell oh ell!
I’d prefer to learn how to fight in a controlled setting in a gym or dojo over being repeatedly mugged or assaulted.
I’d rather learn how to drive in class and a parking lot “road course”, than have to race someone who needs medical attention to the ER.
But then i probably wouldn’t have any good stories.11 Reply- +1 y
Well put, sir.

+1 yI would not want no challenges but I would want moderate challenges,
the pain of a work out in the gym and not the pain of cancer or disease,
the stress of moving furniture and not the stress of a phobia or trauma etc...

+1 yLiving a life completely free of challenges might seem appealing at first, but in reality, it would likely lead to stagnation and boredom. Challenges, obstacles, and opportunities to learn and grow are essential aspects of life that help us develop resilience, adaptability, and new skills. Without them, life would lack excitement, purpose, and the satisfaction that comes from overcoming obstacles and achieving goals. Embracing challenges and learning from them is what makes life interesting and fulfilling.

+1 yYes I've had mostly that, lol joking I've had my share and ongoing of rough and tumble. Sigh - I'm not sure if there's any use to it apart from "if there's ever recincarnation, then this life is merely a test" lol - yet that would seem odd? A test 🧐🤔 and all for what lol win/lose

+1 yNo I am not a weak pathetic man who wants to be given everything. The most important things in life come with the most difficult of prices (I am not talking financial). For something to have value it must of necessity be a challenge to get. I have struggled for much of my life even with the good choices I made and the good luck I had I still struggle to be the person I want and not allow society to corrupt who I am because they can't tolerate differences.
10 Reply6.3K opinions shared on Other topic. YES... by the time you are my age, that's exactly what you want.
All that other bullshit - life full of challenges, things being rocky, and oceans to learn - is for young people to learn that this is what they ultimately want from life.10 Reply- 1.6K opinions shared on Other topic.
+1 yI've been living the hard knock life all my life so give me the easy life at this point.
30 Reply 333 opinions shared on Other topic. Hummm... YES!!! But that is because I would appreciate it more knowing all the difficulties I have faced in life. With out all the lessons learned it would not mean much to me otherwise.

+1 yLearning is one of the great joys of life. Perhaps the greatest, since it doesn't require the cooperation of another person. Losing that sounds like Hell.
10 Reply2.2K opinions shared on Other topic. Of course. I have video games and writing for that. Fiction should be challenging but life? Should be easy. Sadly that's not how reality works.
10 Reply746 opinions shared on Other topic. Nothing to learn may well be tough , challenges? bad ones?
I think I could live with the rest , as long as I have at least as much $$$ as I have now.
