Has anyone in your family or that you've known just disappeared?

My cousin ended up getting pregnant at 14 or 15 by a gang member in her local city. Everyone was ecstatic about the baby but not so much about the guy. My cousin was beautiful and this guy was below average.

There was always problems socially with her family. Her father was the youngest of the brothers and never came around that often but often enough to have the kids play with the others. But he liked the simple life and never left home or went to college. I have no idea what he did for work, but their home wasn't great. That didn't matter to me as a child.

So, back to when she got pregnant, we didn't hear anything more than a couple of pictures sent after that to her mom which she shared. Its been 30 years since I've heard anything. I swear i saw her at my older sisters wedding, but now i'm curious if i did. I'll be asking about that tomorrow for sure. Do people just drop off the map like that?

No. I don't know of anyone who has done that. I mean yes there are a few family members who don't go to family gatherings or come round often, but I go visit them regularly to make sure they're ok.

I have an aunt who will just disappear. She's done it forever. She's a horrible person, we tried many times to reconcile with her but she always ended up lying, stealing or hurting someone so we gave up.

My mother, dad, brother, and sister all walk out of my life when I was 12. I saw them one more time when I was 16 and haven't seen or heard from them ever since.

What could you have possibly done at 12 years old to warrant such shocking treatment by your family?

@TommyMountainFigure They said they couldn't deal with 3 kids, so one had to go and it was me.
