Have you ever been scammed on this website by anyone?

Some people can be so cunning when they direct message (DM) you. They butter you up, say things to get you to trust them so you go along with it. Then after they've got some private information from you, they stop messaging you.
Has that happened to anyone here? I feel like it may have happened to me, or is happening to me.
I don't know what to do or think about it, but my gut tells me something is wrong about it.

No I haven't. I would tell any user to DM a mod (specifically an Uber) with the content and user that is doing it. Uber mods can freeze the account and contact the admin to take a look. If someone is here to spam/scam users the account will surely be banned. You can also contact the admin directly at @GirlsAskGuys. I would first find an active moderator to get the account frozen or at the very least reported to admin by a mod. Every report and action we make is checked by an administrator and prioritized over user reports. They will be seen quickest this way and dealt with the fastest too. If a mod does not allow open DMs then tag them somewhere and explain. Hope this helps.

No, I have not. I wouldn't give much response to a DM; I mean, be polite but also remember: it's the internet. Interacting in a group online is one thing, things getting personal with DMs is quite another. Let the mods know, and be careful.

Yes , new gag account sent me dm last month

I encountered a lot scammers, and not only on internet , sometimes unknown person call me on the phone trying to scam me , or via sms

Also , there are a lot dudes who use girl pic on tinder.

I get used to it.

"Scamming" generally implies fraudulent pretenses to obtain money from another person. I have never had any attempts at that on this site, but as a moderator, I have blocked many scammers and spammers.

had a random dude message me the other day to say how he basically got "love scammed"
i mean cmon, the scammers are so blatant on this site. it's incredibly telling when people fall for the scams.

If someone is asking for your phone number, address, SSN, bank information, sending you to links specifically advertising for something, please report them as spamming.
