Who on this website is a sentimental person?

I am very sentimental, probably more than most people.
Little things mean a lot to me. I cherish pictures I have collected since high school until now. There are A LOT of them.
I save all of my greeting cards from friends and my son and mom that I have had forever.

I am so glad that my boyfriend that passed away was always giving me greeting cards because as I read them now, I know how much he really did love me. I have a whole box of cards he gave me over our 7 year relationship. I feel so blessed that I have them. Like part of him is here with me.

I save so many things - probably too many, but I can't bring myself to throw my memories in a trash can.

Same here! sadly, most of them were thrown away for me a few years ago! One of the reasons I have over 62,000 records is not just because I love having records but a great deal of them hold memories for me. Sometimes, if I need to try to remember a period of time that something happened with me, I remember the music involved in my life at the time and that usually greatly helps me narrow down the point in time I'm trying to come up with. Or, I can pull out a record and it instantly reminds me of one of the first times I played it, where I was some things that were going on around me, etc. They're little time machines! even moreso when I go to play them. Temptations / Ball Of Confusion, CCR / Run Through The Jungle, Elephants Memory / Mongoose, and I think Rare Earth / I Just Wanna Celebrate all remind me of being at camp one summer (probably `70 or `71, lying face down on the floor and listening to them over and other again on the stereo dad had just brought there. Up to that point, the only music we had up there was two drawers full of grandma's old 80 rpm's. They were 1/4" thick and the record numbers were stamped into the outer edge of the records. I loved listening to those, too but, at night, we'd play some of those and two of us would stand at one end of the room with flashlights and at least one other would stand on the other end near the player. All the lights were out and the one person near the player would do funny things as we waggled the flashlights up & down at them and it looked and sounded exactly like those old Charlie Chaplin movies.
