Not gonna lie... i suck at driving and don't like to do it lol. But I've heard people say that women are bad drivers. Do you agree?
- 9.3K opinions shared on Other topic.
1 yyou know when you look at society, everything exists in bell curves, not in binaries. bell curves help you make statements about averages and means but not about individuals. only in terms of chances. individuals can always varay and statements you make about the average may not be true for the individual.
so what you can say about the averages is that on average looking at the entire society, women are worse than men in spacial awareness and technical understanding, making women more prone for dents and scratches as they missjudge the dimensions of their vehicle.
however men on average have a more risk taking and daring character. so they are less prone than women in collecting these minor dents and scratches but they are however more prone to have the more spectacular and deadly crashes on the high way losing controll as a consequence of taking unnecessary risk.
so i would actually say on average men are the worse drivers, causse a dent can be repaired but a deadly crash is not fixable.
24 Reply- 1 y
so technically women are the worse drivers but they make up their lacking ability by taking less risk and being overall more safe as a result.

Bell curves... you've just modified how I view society. Thank you for this good sir.

@V_Injector lol you're welcome. May I ask how you thought of it before?

No, I do not. If you look at statistics, it also disproves this misconception.
I do however think that women are much more prone to not paying attention to the road. They think they can multitask. Talking on a cellphone. Texting. Adjusting the radio. Fiddling with the GPS. I've been in a situation where a female driver was so distracted by everything around her that I asked her to either stop with everything and drive, or pull over and switch so I can drive and she can do what it is she needs to do.
And then there is the female drivers who tries to put on make-up while driving...
Having said this, I think women get into more fender benders and small accidents, where men tend to get into more fatal and horrific accidents.10 Reply

1 yNo! I think bad drivers are bad drivers! However, there is a reason guys under 25 pay almost twice as much for insurance than girls. We get in way fewer accidents. We are literally objectively better drivers. We get fewer tickets, and we get into fewer accidents! Also many more men die each year in vehicle collisions according to the Insurance Institute for Highway safely!
Source: https://www.iihs.org/topics/fatality-statistics/detail/males-and-females
Motor Vehicle Crashed By Sex Here are the raw numbers of vehicles deaths by year from 1975 to 2022. *Note, for expedience and space, I only included the last ten years. But all figures are available at the source above, and I will re-post the source at the bottom.

Female drivers are between 2.5 and 3 times less likely to die if we are driving! But MORE likely to die if the guy is. I hope this helps

Men just drives more and longer than women. And most who work with driving related jobs are men. (Uber, Taxi, Delivery, personal driver, Etc.)
- 1 y
So of course they are more prone to fatality rather than just driving around the neighborhood and picking up their kids at school.

@Aiko_E_Lara Right, because it’s 1970, and most women are still housewives. Could YOU provide a source for your data that men drive greater than 2.5 times (250%) more than women. A better source would be the rate of accidents PER MILE driven. I’d be interested to read those statistics. B/C my source states:
• For every 100 million miles travelled men have a crash rate of 2.1, while women have a crash rate of 1.3. Simply put, men are 61% MORE likely to get into an accident than women
On average, men drive 62% more than women (16000 vs 10000 miles) and account for 59% of vehicle accidents.
(Source: www.lookupaplate.com/.../)
I’d be interested in seeing where you found your contrary data. - 1 y

- 1 y
@Aiko_E_Lara Okay, Aiko I fully understand that men drive more Uber’s, more taxis, more trucks, hell more trains, and they fly more planes too. Thank GOD for men! Our society would clearly and obviously collapse without men. However…. When one calculate’s the amount of vehicle accidents that humans get into PER 100 miles driven, it turns out that PER CAPITA, and per every 100 miles driven, women get into fewer vehicle accidents than men. The fact that men drive more miles, has nothing to do with it. If I drive 100 miles, and I get into 2 accidents, and you drive 75 miles and get in to 2 accidents, it doesn't matter that I drive more, PER MILE you got into more accidents than I did! And when you look at the insurance institute for highway safety, and the CDC data, the data show that men get into more accidents PER MILE driven than women do. That is the only way to measure the data when you have two different groups who drive, and one of those groups drives more than the other. You MUST measure a constant, the x value! in this case, the constant, (or x value) = 100 miles of driving. So when accounting for the fact that men driving more miles per year than women, and mathematically increasing the miles women drive to equal x, women still get in fewer accidents. You seem to be fixated on the fact that men drive more. It doesn't matter. It’s literally irrelevant. when adjusted for those extra miles, and the math has been done, women STILL get in fewer accidents than men, per mile driven. Period! If you cannot understand that, it’s fine. I have no animosity towards you. I hope you are happy and fulfilled, and that you live your best life. But I’m not going to argue a point of mathematical fact. It’s quite literally pointless and futile. If you believe you’ve won the debate, I’m truly happy for you, sweetie.
Take care.

This has nothing to do with me bragging about what men do in the road for our society. But the more you drive, the more you are prone to accidents. Most of the time you'll be driving in the road, the statistics you're talking about is mostly about road accidents and 100% of "road" accidents happen in the "road". With the fact that more men drives as a profession and only few women got those jobs, that would still mean that there are more women who just drives in a more familiar destination than men and there are more men who drives in many different unfamiliar destinations. For example, driving to the ghetto, to the free way, to the offroads, to the mountains is different from driving back and forth to thesame school you left your kids at. You can see the differences of the safety of the paths chosen there. But if you really like to pretend that the ammount of times men drive and their total distances are irrelevant then I can just simply say that the accidents and car crashes you're talking about is irrelevant and that has nothing to do with being a the worse driver. I mean I'm also a safe driver because I have a driver's license but I never drived because I don't have a car meaning I never had any accidents. I'm still considered a driver for the fact that I have a driver's license and I passed the driving tests. So that means I'm better than those driving professionals who had an accident at least just once but continue working. But really it doesn't work that way and it's not rocket science. And don't worry I'm happy for me too.
- 1 y
@Aiko_E_Lara Okay First, I NEVER claimed you were “bragging” about mens rolls in society! You have me confused with a batshit crazy third-wave feminist! I actually LOVE and RESPECT men! I think men are amazing, and I LITERALLY believe that our society, (that was built almost EXCLUSIVELY by men) and is maintained and overwhelmingly protected BY MEN, is incredible BECAUSE of men! I suppose you’ll now think I’m being sarcastic! But that just shows that you truly do not know ME! I LOVE men! Although I was raped at age 13 by my uncle, & sent him to prison for life… (well the judge and jury did THAT) but it was MY testimony that put him there! I am STILL vehemently against #BelieveAllWomen, and I would put #No #BelieveAllEvidence ! Obviously women lie FFS! That’s literally the FIRST thing most women do when they get a divorce... They FALSELY accuse their ex of DV! So I’m afraid you've got me confused with a woman who does NOT respect the shit out of men, for ALL that men do for us, so WE can work in air conditioned offices all day, while men work really HARD outside to keep that A/C running!
But I’m NOT going to argue with you! If you think I’m wrong, that’s ok ¯\_(ッ)_/¯ This is JUST an online conversation. I’m having 20 others right NOW. It’s really not important! So why get upset over it? I am sorry that I couldn't convince you, but that’s okay, I doubt anyone or any statistic I show could. And thats OK too! We ARE allowed to disagree, and that doesn't make you OR me a bad person!
But if you want, Google www.google.com/search It shows an answer that's at odds with your thesis. But again, I am NOT trying to change your mind. And no matter what, I’m DONE with this question! I’m genuinely in too good of a mood right now to argue over anything as inconsequential as "who's the “better”” anything! Men are amazing, why does it even matter if men OR women get in more accidents? Who cares?
Have a great day.
Laura 🤗 🥰 - 1 y
Okay then you wouldn't have made those sarcasm. I mean you're saying "thank God for men" so what does that even imply? But if you're not really being sarcastic then you're the one bragging for men and no one else. So yes there really is no reason for you to be sarcastic about men's accomplishments unless you interpreted what I say as if I am bragging about men which that is it really that case. Also nobody here really is upset but if you like giving argument then you're going to get one. It's simple. And if you really have plenty other arguments then it's nobody's fault you have given like over 20 opinions and different arguments at a time only for you to make excuses like that in the end. You've already showed your statistics at the start of the argument which I have also presented mine. But just like what you said, if you say that men driving longer and taking more dangerous routes to get the job done is irrelevant then I can simply say those car accidents are irrelevant as well and cannot make anyone the worse drivers. And you got so defensive all of a sudden. I mean are you really that afraid if I think you hate men? Lol, there are worse feminists out there worth the roasting.
- 1 y
@Aiko_E_Lara Okay 👍 Well you have a nice day.

Yes. Every accident I've been rear ended in bc a woman was texting and driving or talking to other passengers. I've gone through 3 cars because of women drivers. Thankfully my insurance never went up but women drivers ride your ass for some reason. The monkey see monkey do logic is in full effect when I encounter female drivers.
Male drivers are annoying af and mostly have road rage but they back off if you have dashcam in the front and rear. I've had to deal with bad male drivers when I drive a BMW or Mercedes. They always want to race like an idiot.213 Reply- 1 y
I don't like driving my partner's GT-R for that very reason! Guys, just want to race. And if I'm not going fast enough, usually big diesel trucks, they'll ride my ass. I know I can smoke most cars/trucks, but if I raced every time someone taunted me, I'd be dead or have a lot of speeding tickets.
- 1 y
Well, if I'm driving in certain areas. There aren't many speed limits on my country.

This on guy with a big duly truck was riding me. We have dark tint, he couldn't see who was driving. So, I switched to manual and floored it in 4th, switched to 5th and never saw that truck again.

1 yNo. Woman are far better drivers because we're less aggressive on the road, don't take stupid risks, and don't get frustrated when stuck behind a slow vehicle. It's why our insurance is cheaper.
24 Reply- 1 y
I have a drivers license but i never drived because I don't have a car but that also means I never had any accidents so does that make me a good driver?
- 1 y
Practically no, statistically yes.
- 1 y
Then you're saying women are statistically better but practically worse. Men just drives more than women on average.
1 yI think there are just as many bad male drivers and female drivers. Interestingly statistics gathered by insurance companies point to the opposite. There are more “fatalities” resulting from male driver collisions than female.
If I was to generalize I’d say that female drivers suffer from indecision whereas male drivers suffer from aggression in driving both leading to accidents and incidents. Still , I’d say overall that female drivers are “safer” drivers as they drive defensively.11 Reply
1 yYes lol I do. I've seen and known plenty of women who are great drivers, but I have to admit that in my experience it's been the exception. The amount of times I've been almost hit by women in parking lots, intersections (when they have a red light!), etc has me convinced that most women are bad drivers. Most guys are too though.

1 yI can't really talk shit. I was too poor to drive when I was a kid, then ended up in Japan for almost 10 years where I simply didn't need to drive... I mean I had my Japanese driver's license before I got back to the states, and now I'm basically over 40 and I make women do all the driving for me. I simply can't talk shit because my driving is shit and I know it.
Me + Car = Dead people + Damaged property
I'll put it this way... I only want to drive when I've been drinking and I make sure I'm not wearing a seatbelt.00 Reply2.4K opinions shared on Other topic. Girls tend to want to look at people they are talking to so if they are riding with others they tend to have that instinctive distraction.
Sadly, we can't really rely on stats as women tend to drive less as they get older, giving their husbands the wheel when women would otherwise be of an age more prone distraction. It is the case that among younger single people women are statistically safer drivers, though, as young men tend to find it difficult not to indulge in flaunting control over power without any real awareness of what living with a permanent injury would mean.00 ReplyI learned to drive on a manual transmission, and that's all I've owned to this point. I drive a 2 seater sports car with a 6 speed manual transmission, I've been through a couple Performance Driving schools and I'll put my driving skills against any guy I know. I'm quite certain that I can more than hold my own as far as driving skill goes.
10 ReplyMaybe, but a lot of the guys ik and a lot of guys here in Texas are bad drivers. They speed like crazy, Texas is the state with the highest speed limit already, going up to 85 and that is still not enough for anyone so they all go like 20 over. They do crazy stuff on the road, and it's a lot of guys. The ladies are much calmer
