How many people take a secret to their grave?

How often does that happen? You either never find out because the person kept it to themselves and didn't even write about it, you find out when they're already dead or they confess it to you on their deathbed (likely old age), on their final moments.

You know they always say the phrase "you've dodged a bullet" to those that find out a lot sooner. How many people aren't that luck and the person got away with it for many years and even die with the secret?

How would we know? They keep it secret.

I CAN tell you one interestng thing, though. This is Michael O'Hare:

playing commander Jeffery Sinclair on Babylon 5. He was the commander of the station, and one of the show's main characters. He was originally going to be in charge for the show's whole 5-year arc, but was written out at the end of season one. Everyone wondered why (the only reasons given were vague "mutual and amicable" mumblings), until 2012, when Michael died, and JMS (the creator, showrunner, and writer) came out and explained it.

See, part of Sinclair's character arc is that he's suffering from a prolonged mental breakdown due primarily to war experience-related PTSD, and undergoes physical, mental, and social side effects from it. Unbeknownst to JMS at the time of casting (and perhaps even Michael himself back then), O'Hare himself had issues with schizophrenia, and the dual strain of portraying a character going through this while also going through it himself wore on him. His own condition was worsening; paranoid delusions may not be all that uncommon in Hollywood, but not to THAT extent, and his hallucinations didn't help- they were causing problems with other cast members. When JMS found out, he offered to put the series on hiatus while Michael underwent treatment, but he declined, saying that it would put everyone else's jobs at risk, and he didn't want that.

So he tried to power through, only asking JMS to keep the secret, to which the latter said "I'll take it to my grave". Michael said "No- just take it to mine". He didn't want his own career or life interfered with (more than the condition itself would), but he loved the show and the fanbase, and thought they deserved to know the truth, once it couldn't do him any harm.

Certain things yes, but its more likely ill forget the secret before I get there.

I don't think of them as secrets. There are just things that no one needs to know about. The past should stay in the past.

This means the saying "What is done in the dark will come to light" isn't true at all times. Unlike happy endings, good doesn't always wins and not all secrets ever come to light.
