Secrecy implies deception , that without it would cause conflict or co sequence privacy is choosing what to share and with whom without deception.

Sharing that because for many people they don’t understand the distinction

There are things I know that are private , and I will never share such as thoughts and information confided in me by those close to me over the years , this is private and will never be shared , those I will take to my grave.

Secrets? , well I don’t have any , but isn’t that what I’d say purposely to deceive people? 😂

Yes , because some things are better off left unsaid , especially to certain people , but people I love , am an open book and have nothing to hide

No secrets of mine. I’m pretty open about my past and everyone I know is pretty forgiving and believes in second chances, fortunately for me. I have secrets from other people, where they would potentially be feared, hated and ostracised if I repeated their secrets. There are people who’ve breached the rules in their jobs and could be fired or even sued if I wasn’t remaining quiet about what they’ve told me. There’s stuff mum told me about her life growing up. My friend’s traumatic upbringing. These are not my stories to tell, so I keep them mostly silent.

Im a pretty open book in most cases so there isn't something about me that someone (usually my wife) doesn't know. There are some things im deeply embarrassed by or shamed that I did in my life that I won't share with others, but at least one person knows at this point. I just dont want to overshare, you know?
