1 yYup. We have screens. It saves the ac running by 40% in the day of you can cool it down at night naturally.

Oh okay.
@dustybiker2 and @miah04 I dunno whether or not to say, but it's a nice and refreshing 73 Degrees F at the moment, and we had a bit of rain too earlier! Oh and before I get told off.. Have a great 4th of July both of ya tomorrow
- 1 y
@TommyMountainFigure oddly strange. It's exactly 73° here for the present moment but due 105°. Jealous of the rain... 🧨 @Miah04
ugh @105

Friday and sat is 112° I'm genuinely scared the power will go out on days like that.
@dustybiker2 Does that happen a lot then In hot temperatures?
- 1 y
Yes. Due to everyone using the AC and other appliances.
The electric company tells us not to use them in midday time slots or get fined (based on usage meters).
The power has already gone out at 5am-8am and the other night at 9pm in the past month, as everyone uses their laundry machines and such at none peak hours, but still using the AC, the grid can't handle it.
They have built too many homes too fast here, and no supply to meet the builders greedy demands.
They tell us to limit water, too, but keep approving new home builds. So nobody listens as you get fined by HOAs for brown lawns. Ridiculous.
This was a small farm town when my family came here and now it's 6 lane wide roads. End morning grumble.
I miss England. lol >:D< If Labour get in to power (Elections are tomorrow) then they have said they will build houses on the 'green belt' areas. What's happened there, will be happening here too very soon!

Oh no... 😞
I know, but the current leader of the Conservative Party is completely unelectable! I think they will get crushed!
- 1 y
It's usually the conservatives who want to turn everything to concrete, no? Sounds like there really are two running, one in disguise.
oooohhh.. NOW I know what that So up there was for lol.. The state of politics is worse here than it is there at the moment. Nobody is electable here lol, which suits me just fine because I don't think I'll be able to hobble down to vote anyway!
- 1 y
We are in the same boat on candidates unless a miracle appears.
Be careful on the hobbling, sounds like your misses still has a good arm. We're a great team int we. I got one good leg and she has one good arm lol
- 1 y
Yes. I would say so. Appearances aren't always deceiving. Sometimes they describe a lot.

1 yI don’t since I usually have the AC running in the summer and definitely do not in the winter. I do leave windows open when I go out just to allow air into my home.

1 yNope. I live in the city and it's not safe to do that. I live in a condo building, and it's STILL not safe. People climb walls to break into open windows...

1 yHell no, I grew up in a bad place known for crime. Even though I don't live there anymore, it's ingrained in me to never leave my windows open at night, especially if I'm on the first floor.
