According to your article the bosses where I live are the best., I may have had 10 -12 bosses since I started working. I had 3 or 4 who were excellent. By the time I got into IT i was really too old for mentors but one in particular was a close as a mentor that I ever had. Another was somebody who I knew had my back. He gave me the support I needed and just let me do the job the best way that I knew. I had one that totally screwed me over, He made promises to me so that I would take on a role that I did not want. He lied about everything. I worked for a company for 7 weeks. I applied for a technical position and the owner recruited me to manage the engineers. The company was a strange place to work. People would disappear and nobody would mention them again. My boss would schedule meetings with me and then not show up for them. Ialways had the feeling that I was being watched and my internet usage was being monitored. After 7 weeks I was fired. Nobody ever told me why and they even admitted that I showed up on time every day and did everything they asked me to do.
My last boss was very good. He is younger than me but he always treated me with respect and realized that he could learn from an older worker. I just quit that job 4 weeks ago not because I had issues with my boss but because I retired.
Massachusetts?
Ground Zero for moonbats.
So why do you live there instead of say, Mississippi, that bastion of intellectualism and culture that is filled with MAGAs.
I want to move to Florida but my kids all live here and my wife won't go. Otherwise I would be gone years ago. I was actually on the short list for a job with NASA. My wife said it I wanted to go to Florida I would have to go by myself. This was 20 years ago. Maybe I made the wrong decision.
I don't blame your wife. Florida is hot as hell and humid as a steam room and filled with bugs and MAGA.
Have you ever actually been there?
I have been there a few times. I wanted to go to college at the U of Miami. I wanted to go down there and never come back. I even toured the campus and interviewed with the dean. I was psyched and then i got the skinny letter telling me i was not axepted.
It happens - no worries. I got a few of those from places I really didn't want to go, proving there really IS a God.
@msc545 I probably would not have saved enough money to go anyway.
Yes, there is that. I was lucky to get scholarships.
I had an ROTC scholarship but lost it because i failed the eye test.
sorry...
it derailed the rest of my life.
Uh, how so? (very sorry!)
I had an ROTC scholarship with the Air Force. I had planned on becoming a pilot. I passed all the written exams and passed the flight physical but during basic training after freshman year they had a bunch of tests like an altitude chamber and a rocket sled to test for G force. There also was a color threshold test that I could not pass. I was dropped from the program and lost my scholarship. I had to drop out of college and had to take a series of minimum wage jobs. It took me 12 years to finally get through college.
I'm very sorry. I get it - I wanted to be a surgeon but I got essential tremor...
God has a sense of humor.
Luckily for us he does.
i would always get bad bosses fired. usually, people in management aren't nice people. i've only had one good one
I am selfemployed. I would rank myself medium.😅
