Do you care about strangers?

A stranger is someone's mother, father, brother, sister, and so on. In the name of humanity, we should all care about one another. We shouldn't overlook anyone needing help, of any kind.

A lost man in my area showed up once when I was about to go for a walk. He had dementia, and had asked if I could help him. Ho looked about in his 80's. He asked me for help, and said he was lost, so I thought he just needed help getting to the right building (in a condo complex). He showed me the number he had written on his hand with his address number, we went to that address on the block but it didn't exist. He couldn't remember the street name. So I asked a few people to look up the number and the street we were on, no luck. Finally he remembered the street name. We asked someone to look that up on his cell, and we found his address. About 2 or 3 blocks down was where he was. He kept apologizing to me but I said it was no problem ( I was getting my walk after all) and finally we got her to his place, and some young people in a pool we had passed by as we were looking for his street told me they'd take him home. The man asked if I was ok going back--I wasn't far at all. So as we said goodbye he said he would pray for me. Such a sweet man.

I felt good because he had a wife waiting for him who was probably full of grief knowing her sin husband was lost outside, and couldn't find his way home. I advised him to write down his full address and always carry it with him.

We live in a huge world full of strangers, but it only takes one experience to make us know them, and we shouldn't ignore this who need help.

Depends on what you specifically mean. "care" is a hard thing to quantify due to the highly subjective nature of the feeling, nuances of definitions, forms of expression, etc.

But to give a general answer on my perception, I can say that my "care" for others isn't the largest or the smallest. I care about others to an extent & in my own ways that I prefer to.

I believe there are many many markers that produce the concept of care, & for everyone, the levels of each will vary depending on many many factors. Never staying still. Always moving.

For instance, my care for others in the morning before I've had nutrients is very low. But once I get my energy levels up, it could be higher. Throw a headache at me & it may drop again. Lower cortisol levels & it may increase. Provide me with a sense of duty or nobility somehow & it may increase. Tank my testosterone levels & it may decrease. You name it.

In a general sense... no. I have to look after the people i care about first. But as individuals yes. I like to be kind and considerate and it's always nice talking to people if they are nice and friendly too.

I mean I don't think about them like just sitting at home focused on my life and stuff. However if s stranger needed my help I'd help. I do feel empathy for people I know when I'm made aware of something bad happening to them.
