When are people strangers to you and what makes them not strangers anymore?

Everyone is a stranger to some extent, right? I mean, my wife and I know each other better than anyone ever could, but we still can't know everything about each other.

For me, if I know someone's name, they are no longer a stranger. They are even less of a stranger the more I get to know them.

1. I know their first and last name.
2. I know their occupation.
3. I know at least two personality traits/quirks about them.
4. I know of at least one of their friends or family members, even if I've never met them before.
5. They know most or all of the above about me, as well.

If somebody is predictable and honest and trustworthy I consider them a friend

if somebody is unpredictable and dishonest and untrustworthy I do not view them as a friend

A person becomes not a stranger when i start trusting their true intentions of wanting to be with me just because they like me and not because they want to just use me.

I consider a person a stranger when I have limited to no information on the person. A person is no longer a stranger to me when I know their name, have an understanding of their personality type, have awareness of their motivations, and have established a rapport. At this point, they are an acquaintance.
