  04 for the fourth day and
  1776 for the year.
  
  How is that counterintuitive?

  Because I have to deal with people from all over so I have a mix of time zones and date formats, I date using a cannibalized US Military Dating Format along with another format which I know is common, but I cannot find a definitive standard for it.
  
  Today is:
  
  U 01 SEP 2024 and the time is 12:02 CDT.
  
  My variant of military dating is common:
  dd MMM yyyy
  2 numbers for day of the month
  3-letter capitalized English abbreviation for the month.
  4 numbers for year in "AD" ("Anno Domini") aka "CE" ("Christian Era" or "Common Era")
  
  Before the date, I use a single letter to indicate the day of the week. I discovered that this is a standardized format in college class hour schedules and elsewhere.
  U Sunday
  M Monday
  T Tuesday
  W Wednesday
  R Thursday
  F Friday
  S Saturday
  
  Since I live in the Central Time Zone in the US and it is Daylight Savings Time, I write CDT for "Central Daylight Time".
  HOWEVER, if I am dealing with someone else in a different time zone, I will often use their time zone, both time zones, and/or include UTC.
  
  I use a 24-hour clock and that pisses my wife when she drives my car.
  So, 1 hour from now will be 13:09.
