I’d probably have to think longer and harder about it, but off the top of my head…. I never got to play ice hockey growing up, and always wanted to. Too expensive, and too time consuming, my parents said.

I figured it was just something I’d always have to watch and never get to do. But luckily, I’ve been able to find an avenue to start playing in my 40s, and now I’m about three years in, and absolutely loving it.

I worried about starting so late, if I could ever get myself up to speed to be competitive with guys who have played for decades, since they were kids. But I’m getting there👍

So my applicable quote that I heard and really like is: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago; the next best available time is NOW.”

But I think the quote should only apply with things we deem important. If random men, for instance, think I'm a loser & there are no negative consequences that will come of it aside from them just having a low opinion of me, it's low on importance & shouldn't be taken very seriously. I shouldn't feel any requirement or need to prove anyone wrong unless I just felt like it for whatever reason.
