I know it is weird I admit, I can't reason why I find neanderthals/prehistoric homo saphiens attractive. Some reason I am drawn to them, are there any scientific reason for this? Or am i mentally ill? It started to make me feel uncomfortable nowadays

That's a reconstruction of a Neanderthal with modern hair and clothes. He looks just like a person (which he would've been, had he been real), but with a projecting brow ridge and bigger nose and cheeks.

It may be the more tough (in the sense of "enduring", not "aggressive") vibe their images give off, or the heavier musculature they'd've had, that appeals to you. Bluntly, if modern civilization disappeared overnight, and we were somehow prevented from rebuilding it, not a lot of people would survive. Attraction to someone who looks like they could is pretty understandable, from an instinct viewpoint.

It's not something I'd worry about in your position; in the unlikely event that YOU meet one, they're still human, so dating them is morally acceptable. And if someone DOES object, you can club them into submission together! (I believe that's number 14 on the list of "Fun date ideas for time-traveling cavemen").

Hmm, seriously, specific attractions, fetishes and the like. This is personal, it is something inside you, that may be very deep, that connects the dots between an experience, a memory and a fetish. There isn't much difference between other homo species and homo sapiens. So little in fact that interbreeding was common, and most people alive today have genetics from other species of humans in them.

It is normal for humans to find anything that is mostly humanoid in form and resembles the opposite sex to be attractive. Its why people make art with hot humanoid aliens, or furries, or mythological beings, etc.

The brain registers it as exotic, but still human.
