One is just pointing out that 'hey what you said wasn't cool' as opposed to 'wow you're an a'hole!'
What do you think? am i wrong?

One is just pointing out the thing they said wasn't something you liked and the other is attacking their character.

As a matter of fact, constructive criticism is insanely difficult to provide, as it is resource intensive, it requires time, energy, knowledge, stance, empathy and many things we probably don't have, don't feel or don't know, most of the time, lol
And then, not to sound pessimistic but, even when we do go constructive, there are odds saying that our intent may not be received as it is, but as it is being perceived instead... xD
Best answer!! ^^^ MHO!
Attitude matters too tho. We can criticize someone's statements with shitting on them as a person. but most people have to go with personal attacks when their feelings get hurt.
We seem to have lost the art of civil debate in this country and just disagreeing with someone, even politely, is perceived as a personal attack that needs to be responded to with accusations and name calling. I just don't get it. Why can't we disagree with each other and have a calm, civilized discussion? Everybody might just learn something that way.
In theory we could, in practice and when extremism of view is involved, and I believe there is an increase in extremism everywhere, on every point of views possible then... It's just more and more difficult to be civil, laws of physics, in a way lol
Yeah I had to practice that kinda difference when I tried to stop "acting like" an asshole myself. Lol
The difference between "you're stupid" & "that's a stupid idea" can be real big if u don't know the person well enough to make mean jokes with them..
