That is kinda the point. Traumatic memories are stored in a different part of the brain and it is an emotional memory. It was functional to have an immediate reaction of fear when you have an encounter with a sabre tooth tiger because last time it tried to eat you.
When you say memory loss from suppressing emotions is that including forgetting to get milk at the supermarket?
A lot of people would be better off with traumatic memories lossage. Every war vet for a start.
I am quite intrigued about what form of memory loss is consequential from suppressing emotions..

Yeah I realized that was a thing when my siblings started talking to me about some bad things that happened to me and I was like "there's no way that happened" and then they showed proof.

suppressing your emotions can lead to worse things than memory loss (which is counted as luck in some situations)...

it's healthier to experience your emotions, let them be, and pass in a natural way
