What's the context? Years ago I lost my wallet in the parking lot of a restaurant, with cards, documents, everything. Some guy found it and returned it to the restaurant, but stole my cash (60-70 Euros). Oh well, at least I got everything else back.

About $1000. I paid this to a moving company as a required deposit to book the appointment. But then they never showed up to move my items. I was never able to get the money back even though I sought help from both the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General of the state.
