Trick or treating tips for beginners?

This will be our first Halloween trick or treating (my daughter and I) and I’m a bit nervous/scared because I have an active restraining order. We will be doing it in a completely different part of town but do any parents have advice for a toddler.

Record it. Hold their hand if they are frightened or nervous to knock on doors. Remind them to thank the people for the candy.

Team up in a larger group. Either go with family or connect a few friends who have kids and trick or treat with several other kids. It’s safer and they can run together.

Avoid the area or person you can't be around. Maybe go to a church trunk or treat event.

Only knock on doors with lights on the porch and only do it in the areas of the neighborhood you know well.

@KittygosMeoWW nothing home made or that opens and reseals easily. Do you go to church? Most churches do something at the church so you don’t need to go house to house.

We ended up trick or treating and everything was fine, lol I have a candy thug she was demanding 2-3 pieces per house and refused me to hold her bag
