What do you wish you could have told your younger self, as a more mature, older version of yourself?

I don’t know how to answer this since I’m who I am thanks to the mistakes of my previous younger more naive self…. Without my mistakes, I wouldn’t have personal growth or at least meaningful change to push myself further not backward.

I used to be pro life for example and never dived deeper on the subject beyond that to make a well rounded and educated stance on it from there though now I’m definitely pro choice. I now realize that pro choice isn’t pro abortion, it is pro individual woman’s right to choose the best course of action in terms of reproductive healthcare in general. You don’t have to agree with me on this, whether politically or religious or some other reason, just know that this was my personal change.

I have a lot of these examples from a little mistake I made on a quiz to the “I should’ve done _ , _ , and _ with these past experiences I have grown to be a better person though I’m still flawed, no one is perfect and everyone needs to work towards being the best version of themselves that they can be. I’m striving towards that every single day through the mistakes and successes I make.

I'm constantly scared of altering the space-time continuum, no way I'm taking responsibility here. For what? To circumvent some bad calls in my life? And then what? To make different mistakes, possibly greater? Come on, I can't do this.

focus more on your life by getting involved in shit  like do more in school even if it feels like a waste of time bc i promise it isn't. a lot of opportunities there you can't revisit

I would have told myself to network more. I isolated myself from people who weren't at the level I wanted to get to and if I hadn't done that, I would have had a much easier time getting back on my feet.

I would have had way more experience working with different people, would have made more money had access to more opportunities.

It also makes it harder for people to slander you when you've worked with everyone and they know you.

I'd tell my younger self to be more accepting of the opportunities that come your way and instead of getting frustrated and trying to force a certain path in life, just enjoy the ride and focus on steering the ship rather than trying to turn it into an airplane to fly wherever you want.

there have been a few times that while I thought I was indestructible, and I was a human wrecking ball on the fire ground when I was younger, the life of a truckie, now as I am getting older some of that is starting to catch up with me.
A few surgeries here and there, now in January I am scheduled to get a new shoulder to replace the one that was repaired years ago, so while they can keep patching me up and I will be able to return to work, maybe I would have done things a little different, but that is just the way things were done back then.

The reality for me is that my changes have been so massive that there's nothing I could have really told myself to have put myself on a more straight path. I probably would have told myself to stop listening to my parents and build friendly relationships even with people who had been my enemies at the time, as it wouldn't have absolutely stunted my growth so hard.
