Do you need to be acknowledged?

This question is for people who aren't very communicative with others and that won't necessarily acknowledge something another person tells them. So what I really want to know is that when roles were to be reversed is it something you need even if you don't do it with others.

Νot anymore. Keep in mind that I am saying that as a negative thing not as a positive. If you need to be acknowledged you are a human. If you are not, well... it is not right. Something within you is not functioning as it should.

Yes I need to be acknowledged especially if I go out of my way to acknowledge you. And if you don't acknowledge me back I see it as a red flag because it's something that puts me on guard.

@EmmaMary Yes I do like to be acknowledged. I am not that kind of person that will typically talk to just anyone and I respect people's boundaries but if I go out of my way to ask you how you are and if everything is okay I do expect the other person to acknowledge me. I think it's a form of respect if you care about me at all. So if someone doesn't acknowledge me in that way I see it as a red flag. Xxx

My guess is that people who are not communicative will probably not be answering this question. 🤔

I think it's basic human decency to answer or acknowledge another person who is talking to them. It at least let's the speaker know they were audible.

In my opinion, yes, even if someone doesn’t express or give acknowledgment, they still need it. It’s a natural human need for connection and recognition, even if it’s not outwardly shown.
