Pretty song.
raising children is a life time process.
I explained to them and to hubby… at this time (they are teens now) my involvement is 50%. And less in their 20s, it will be 80%. Once they are married with kids… maybe 5%-1%….
Sometimes my hubby doesn’t understand why I am not as involved… because I am not a helicopter parent. They have to become independent and responsible as they get older. My job is to guide them.
I don’t like to do anything for them at this point. They are taking over some of the household duties… and had to explained to hubby to not do some of the house chores.
so now kids do laundry, cook. We just guide them and be their listeners/supporter.

It's a nice song, but not intended for children. It's a ballad in which the Chrissie Hynde (the singer) pledges love and faithful assistance to a loved one in times of personal darkness. Carrie Underwood and Shakira have also sung versions of the song.

Having said that, the chorus would be good to say, or sing. to one's children.
