Why do girls not like men with long fingernails and what do you think about mine?

I have medium long fingernails on my right hand which makes it good for playing guitar in my case. I keep my fingernails short on my left hand for the same reason and i always keep them clean.

I never keep them uniform, if one needs cut, it gets cut but, i prefer to have them SLIGHTLY longer for two reasons.
A: If I cut them really short, my fingers tend to split open on either side of the nail and it's VERY painful! This doesn't happen if I leave them a bit long.
2: I tend to use them like tools. It's quite hard to pick up something flat on the floor or a table with no nails. With SOME nails, I can easily get under the item and lift it right up.
