Do you find it hard to distinguish between a narcissist and a sociopath?

It seems that both can overlap many times. While a sociopath have narcissistic signs all the time, a narcissist isn't always a sociopath. Yet both are characterized by lack of empathy.

Do you find it hard to distinguish a person that can be both vs one that's just a narcissist?

anything comorbid makes it hard to lol just requires spending time with the person to get an idea

my mom has NPD and i can tell for several reasons she doesn't got ASPD, but the biggest is she does feel remorse and cares about the opinions of others. feel like ASPD don't give a shit in general and more about like if there's any benefit

If they only have NPD like your mom but able to feel remorse then yes that's easier to tell. It's harder when it's a sociopath that also displays narcissistic traits at the same time.

anything that is comorbid can make it harder to identify or diagnose by professionals. it's kinda why a lot of people who do might get misdiagnosed initially

Humans and society are weird things. I just try to stick to my day job, lol pay my taxes, shop, be merry, spend time with family and friends.
I just lead my life, as any other ordinary average person. Or like Mr Bean does - he seems sane and happy enough and ordinary enough with his lime-green MINI and ordinary house/apartment thing and Teddy 🧸

Sociopath is just self preserving or chronicly bored.

yeah a narc is all about getting admired so much. The harder part is when a sociopath also displays narcissistic traits and that's when both can overlap.

Well i guess more distinctive part that can make sociopathy part more appearant is the anger moments, narcisstic people gets angry when their images getting potentially tainted, sociopaths are just unpredictibly prone ti rage as far as i know about the subject, they can flip out from the most random thing while narcisstic rage is more due to hurted ego (psycopathic rage is pretty much unexistent if i know right because as far as i know psycopaths are natural born (LİTERALLY not figuratively) cold blooded robots, i Heard somewhere that they have no intense emotions, everything is at most base level, if they angry it is just irritation, there is no loosing control with them but by all means don't take me too literally cuz i am not a professional a D can be very wrong.

Narcissist they care are more remorse and Sociopath don’t care.
