For me a wolf would be my go to animal though a lynx would be good too. On the more adventurous side I think a dolphin would be cool to hang out with as would a rhinoceros. Hippos have too big a mouth that I know accidents would happen when they yawn

No, as pets they don't get that aggressive. Genetically they are lesser cats, closely related to the housecat. They are far safer than Jaguars and Leopards, not to mention Tigers.
