Why don't women have Jr versions of themselves?

The Jr thing sounds both foreign (no such thing here) and frankly disrespectful to me lol. I mean, I find the symbol concerning, there are people who are the junior version of a senior version so where's their identity in there, why cloning names? It's like those guys named Whatever Thing III? The last time I heard of this concept was for the old monarchs. Why parents are doing that to their kids? Why on earth? 😑

It should not be my place to fire up on cultural practices lol, buuuuut I don't know I don't really buy the memorial nor the honour here, it's offset romanticism to me. in my opinion, the reality is darker, as it's consistent with some parental stances effectively disallowing their kids to carry an independent identity.

Traditionally when getting married the name changes. So Mary smith jr could become Mary jones jr while her mom remains Mary smith.

My cousin is a jr. She's named after her mom but we don't call her jr. We say "little Lorriane" since she's the younger Lorraine but she's older than me 😂
