Were you ever surprised by how big something is, when you've seen it up close and in person, for the first time?

I went to the zoo yesterday for the first time in probably over ten years and when I went to the penguin 🐧 enclosure, I was shocked at how big they are! There were staff members feeding them and some of the penguin's were taller than the people's waist. A guy that was also looking at them, told me there is a penguin that is around four foot tall and weighs over ninety pounds! YIKES 😳

Great, I thought the one thing I would never have to be afraid of is a PENGUIN! Guess I was wrong! 🤦 I do have an example though, this last fall, when I was coming home from work, some city workers were putting a new traffic 🚦 up. That thing was huge! They were using a crane and when it was hanging next to the guys putting it up, it looked as big as them! I would have never thought they were that big.

I know what you mean! They would tear me apart 😂😂 I'm really surprised that traffic lights are that big but it does make sense, because they are kind of high, so it's hard to judge how big they are. That's actually really interesting.

Right , coz in Australia we have these pissy ( that's harsh ) fairy penguins ( Phillip Island ) and on the few times I've gone , I've expected this majestic black/ white creator to emerge from the water , and they are this tiny , shy thing.. looks like a sparrow 55555 .
So opposite - they are cute though.

My first proper mountain. The top was covered by clouds most of the time and when the weather cleared I was surprised how much up I had to look to see the summit.

Yes, I remember visiting Rocky mountain national Park. I remember when we drove up one of the mountains and it went from 78 degrees to 28 degrees when we reached the top. There were pine trees that were like a foot tall and I guess it took them over 50 years to get that tall lol I was amazing just how huge the mountains are.
