Why don't most English speakers think that non-English names are pronounced differently?

They have a strange belief that every name must conform to English pronunciation rules, as if it hasn't even crossed their mind to find out how something should be pronounced. Why is that? Do you enjoy butchering every single name that doesn't look English?

I'm fine with incorrect pronunciation😊, but their lack of curiosity about the original surprises me.
