I am 30 years old, kinda broke, and I am back to square one trying to find a career path like I was in high school.
I normally work in tech. I have been getting a lot of grim news the market is oversaturated, according to numerous recruiters. It makes sense, seeing that big tech laid off more than half a million workers since 2022, and foreigners are swiping up these roles from H1B visas and offshore sourcing. In addition, AI is disrupting the tech industry, bringing a lot of uncertainties regarding the demand of human resources in the future.
I was terminated from my most recent tech role. in July 2024. I am thinking leaving tech may be action I need to take.
Here's the issue, I am unlikely going to be able to get into the healthcare industry. I faced disciplinary action on my EMT license many years ago due to a stalking conviction related to a former romantic interest. I have been unable to regain eligibility after recent attempts. I am thinking this eliminates me from most healthcare roles.
I am seeking a career where I can earn a decent upper-middle-class salary without having to return to school for long durations. I am hoping to gain meaningful work where I can use my mind more so than menial labor. I am engaged to be married soon, so I am frantically trying to figure this out.
Any ideas?
