i remember not too long ago a video went viral of this couple purposely backing into a car and tried acting like it was their fault. Then as soon as they saw the dash cam, they panicked and left 😅

Yep, and it became super helpful about a week after I got it. I was parked outside the supermarket and some dude ran over with a trolley and launched it at the front of my car. He didn’t realise I was sitting IN the car so I got out and was like what the fuck dude. I walked to the front of the car and pointed at the huge scratch and dent he’d just made. And he panicked, saying sorry, and when he realised that I wasn’t accepting his apology, he started denying it and saying “oh no I didn’t do that, it was already there!”. Lol. I asked him for his insurance info and he ran off. Dashcam caught it all because I hadn’t fully turned my car off yet. Insurance covered it and sorted me out with panel beaters.

At some point I daily encouter drivers whose break lights are not working.

Honestly I'll be reporting them to the assigned department to deal with. I don't like causung trouble or pressuring anyone at all. But this is no joke and has to be strictly dealt with.

I'm just too picky to decide which to get.

I had a dash cam but last summer's heat fried it after the car was parked in the sun for several hours and the outside temperature was in the 90s F (35 C). It got much hotter inside the car and the camera was in direct sunlight.

It came with the car but I'm not sure it's wired correctly. Seems like a good way forward though in theory.

I want to get one. But there are so many out there. Plus my car only has USB ports. With no cigarette lighter type power supply.
Most dash cams don’t list the power source.
Any suggestions?
