But I’m in and out of the hood all the time, even the scary hours, hitting outside ATMs in neighborhoods they make gangster movies about and shit. ZERO problems. I have no fear of getting got. If I get got, I get got. Give it up smooth and I should be fine. If I’m not…. that was life’s plan. If you’re not in that life, that life has a hard time of finding you, and I’m just way too old to be in that life anymore.

I only kept a bat (aka “The Peacemaker”😂) when I used to hustle, which I guess was reckless because there was this crew of crazy ass Cambodian kids in town who ran up in spots a few times. They shot an RA in my dorm freshman year in the neck, lmao. Didn’t even know he was slingin’, haha.

But their thing was swords. They had a Katana blade, that they hacked not one, but TWO dudes I knew with. My boy Sully (R. I. P.🙏) almost got his arm taken off, he put his arm up to block it when they swung it at him when there was beef at a party, he had a huge scar. After all that, he got point-blanked with a rifle by a childhood friend who was tweaking, like a year or two later. That sucked.

And then this other kid I worked with, I didn’t know him at the time, but he was a frat brother, and these same Cambos kicked up dust at one of their parties, and he had a scar/bald spot where they slashed him IN THE HEAD. These kids were all like 5’4 too, but they were LIVE WIRE.

So back then, maybe I should’ve heated up. But I kinda knew some of the Cambodian dudes from the bar scene, not the ones who did the real dirt, they were all locked up for their shit, but a few other kids who I assume probably knew all those guys. Made sure to establish good diplomacy with them, lmao.

Other than that, I was up against college whiteboys, lmao, I was the bully, haha. Nobody fucked with me, and I was also kind of a “man about town”, sort of an entry-level local celebrity from working the door at popular bars. Drama was real low. Had a few rough….”collections” endeavors, but other than that, it didn’t get too grimy. College hustlin’ and block hustlin’ are not the same😂

It's really not part of the culture or surroundings I've been raised in, to carry any weapon, anything beyond a pepper spray makes people looking like weirdos or petty criminals. As for the concept of self-defense, it does not attract me because I've never been assaulted before, nor robbed nor stuff like this. I'm not even sure I have witnessed a fist fight more than once, which says something about the level of danger I'm presented with, in my life. Also I'm not a member of the gender having to face a sense of insecurity due to men, so, all in all, self-defense is not something I have a need for.

Damn I don't know who runs that shit over there but that person is lacking brain cells, over here it's strong on self defense, in my state not only is there castle law but the self defense laws is if you fear intense bodily harm or death, you have the rights to defend yourself, if someone has a knife you can shoot them, also if I'm not mistaken if it's 3 or more unarmed attackers you can still defend yourself cause 3 is enough to cause bodily harm and even death, meanwhile France is like die or get robbed lol

Yea that's basically it even the police officer encourage the people to let themselves be robbed without defending themselves it's crazy, some years ago a man got his shop robbed and he shoot one of the robber so the police arrested him and wanted to put him in jail for murder.

In America you're lucky you have really good self defense laws, it's great at least you can protect your things.
Here you either lose your phone or your life.
Also here it's encouraged not to wear expensive things as it'll make people want to steal from you.

Surely the person that made the laws was a robber himself I see no other ways.

And castle law is laws for your property, your house is your castle basically, anyone that tries to break into your property you have the rights to use lethal force, which is probably my favorite law cause you don't gotta worry about weapons they have or none of that, if they break into your house you can shoot them, its good cause you don't have to worry about any restrictions in the place that matters the most, where your family is, also I forgot to mention you can also defend someone else as well, if an armed man tries to rob a store you can shoot them defending yourself and the people around you

There's actually quite a lot of crime but they're all related to drugs usually and the dealer leave you alone if they know you. So long as you stay in your area you're gonna be ok but if you leave it and go to a bad one you'll get in trouble if you look like you have expensive stuff.
Some weeks ago a guys killed a 12 years old because he wanted to steal her phone and she refused so he stabbed her to death.
And that was a guy that was know by the police for being a thief, an aggressor (his own sister filled a complain about him but the police did nothing), etc... There's quite a lot of crime here but the justice just don't care about it because the jail are ways too full.
Look the "baumette" it's a French prison in Marseille and the state of it is pretty bad and overpopulated it's also the reasons our justice do nothing because our prison are just to overfilled and awful so they prefer leaving the bad guys outside.

But people in France also usually don't really fight back at all when they get agressed so the thief just steal the stuff and nobody get hurt except a fews bruises.

The crime where I live is pretty high especially in city like Marseille nord, Grenoble and Lyon. I guess our crime percentage is not publicized in international cause in France they showed it and it was really awful and extremely high.
Like sexual harassment percentage for women is that 100 % of women experienced it before their 18 years old.

That's such a great laws, I wish we would have those laws here but our justice and government don't want to

Well last years we learnt that 3 Mayor were the leader of drugs trafficking in their city so yes we do have tons of corruption also I worked for a town hall and I learnt that all construction site were basically stealing the money from the state and giving it to their friends. Like they say they make a new road but instead of saying it cost 10000 euros they say it cost 40000 and so they steal 30000 from the state.
I worked for the finance part of the town hall and I saw that when the school bought chocolate cake for children they also bought many alcohol bottle and the other worker just told me to not look into it and just validate it.

Yes they get in trouble because the laws consider you the attacker because you knew how to defend yourself against someone who didn't (even if this person attacked you first) people that are too good at martial art are told they're not allowed to defend themselves using their technic...

The things in France for self defense is that you're allowed to defend yourself without causing arms to your aggressor and only in the case of when your life is threatened (so a thief is not considered as ok for self defense ever) it's only ok if the person try to kill you and you should only use self defense technic (never any attack technic) and only use them in a ways to escape the aggressor but never for hurting him.

They surely do but for the other stuff I'm not aware as they lie a lot, they do get restaurant for free though too because they threatened the restaurant if he don't give them free meals, like the state said to the town halls worker they get 14 euros for a meals but they decided to get 17 euros meals and none of them paid the 3 euros difference, they make a big fuse out of it cause they refused to pay and in the end the restaurant had to shut up and not get his money.

Well the everyday life is good to be honest you won't notice a things unless you're careful or living in a "Banlieue" but if not life is very peaceful, I used to live next to a drug dealer during years and if you're not careful you won't notice anything. My mother noticed it but I never did until she told me. The dude was selling drugs but he was also smoking weed and taking coke but he never really bothered anyone he just did his own things. After my area is know to be bad but most area is great where my grandfather life it's extremely peaceful. It just depend where you go.

I live in one of the worst area so that's kinda not representative of all of France and the town hall I worker in it was in the city who was filled with "Classe S" which is those that are on high terrorist list.

They do arrest it and they do it often it's just the judge that let them go, the police is pretty hard with criminal but the judge is very loose and don't care.
