Finished my night stand what do you think?

It used to be in a basement holding work machinery now it's in my guess bedroom/office a a night stand

My grand father was a cabinet maker. High end custom furniture maker. My father was a finish carpenter. I grew up around wood and sawdust. So these sort of projects interest me.

Looks nice. I like that you kept the destressing / wear and didn't go for a "like new look". It makes it more interesting.

I bought a new bar height kitchen table and chairs several years ago and the first thing I did was strip the brown wood grain finish off the table top, distress the hell out of it with a hammer and various screws, chisels, etc, and paint it low gloss black. Any subsequent damage looks like it belongs. No worries about dents and dings.

Looks nice. The gold is a good touch, although this is just me but I would've made it a stronger blue like royal blue or ocean blue, but maybe it is and I just can't tell all that well from the lighting.
