Why is it so difficult to achieve the "American Dream"?

My ideal American dream:

• Opportunities for meaningful work/career with minimal-to-no red tape, unnecessary regulation, and bureaucracy
• Ability to pursue a career that fits my niche
• Reasonable work-life balance
• An affordable and reasonably comfortable middle-class lifestyle that comes along with hard work and dedication (not lavish but comfortable: modest 3-4 bedroom home, a car for both me and my wife, nutritious food on the table, ability to fuel cars and have utilities without strain, and 1 vacation a year... the necessities but with reasonable wiggle room for comforts)

I feel everything today has to be an obstacle or unreasonable chore, like everything is working against me

1. Because people stopped doing generational households that got passed down.
2. Because minimum wages are half of what they should be to keep up with inflation.
3. Because neighbors no longer help eachother.
4. Because workers no longer join unions or go on strike when wages or labors are unfair.
5. Because people persue careers before marriage.
6. Because government food sale regulations are overkill and no one complains.
7. Because property taxes and income taxes were designed just to tax the rich, and were later changed to tax everyone.
8. Because food has less nutrition do to lack of crop cycling.
9. Because no one riots over planned obsolescence.
10. Because you need a degree to do trade jobs now.

I see a lot of greediness, selfishness, and a lot of red-tape/policies/barriers that obscure common sense.

... and in addition to a lot of red tape, bureaucrats like to delay and drag out everything. A lot of complication for tasks that should be relatively simple.

Also to mention, all the scams, spam, and hidden fees. A lot to keep up with and hoops to jump through
