Social media makes it seem like everyone’s life is so perfect when really it’s not.

I'd say social media, in general, probably extend an existing rupture in societies. As a dividing line, between those who have been taught how to make use of social media and those who have been left alone, lost in the jungle. It's so sad but also not new. So many people are left behind, rotting in a corner, just because they were not born at the right place, in the right time...

Social media is like smoking, drugs, alcohol. It creates a buzz that makes people return and try to get the same buzz as before. It's possible to make it work if used properly but more often too easy to fall into bad habits and addictive behaviours

I think in todays society, social media is a huge part of day to day life. If you want to stay up to date and network, you need to have social media.

I'm not saying people who don't have social media have no friends. I just mean it;s an important part of making connections and keeping up to date with what's going on in the world.

So, I think that means you've been using the types of social media that is intended to distract you. TikTok, Instragram etc.. are all platforms that can make you feel distracted from dsily life but for a short time. You don'y learn anything from them.
On the other hand, social media platforms like LinkedIn and this platform (GAG) actually use social media to engage people and make connections through knwoledge and shared interests. These are the places you can make genuine connections with likeminded people and learn rather than doom scrolling for hours on end.
