Are you talking about metaphorically or in real life? I do both fairly frequently. I probably literally bite my tongue in my sleep more often than I bite my tongue (keep quiet). I also fairly frequently bite my cheek while I am sleeping. When I bite my tongue or my cheek in my sleep it hurts like a MF and I scream and wake myself up. I often have taken a little chunk out of my tongue or cheek.
