What's your favorite holiday and why?

Mine is Halloween because of all the scary movies that come out around that time and because you get to dress up and be whoever you want.

Unlike pretty much every single Indian, who loves Holi or Diwali the most, there's this festival called Makar Sankranti (the Harvest festival) that I love the most. It marks the transition of the sun into the zodiac sign Capricorn (Makar), signifying the end of the winter solstice and the beginning of longer, warmer days. It happens mid January every year, a week before my birthday and with it the harvesting season starts and the beginning of a new agricultural cycle. I also have agricultural roots in my family. I dislike winters and love summer so, that explains why it means so much to me and my lifestyle.

I like Easter, it's underrated. Easter reminds me of The King who died for me. It's more than bunnies or egg hunting. Plus, I find peeling boiled eggs therapeutic.

Boxing day, so can say Christmas too. Boxing day is a great day for sport so i'm glued to my tv all day.

Apart from that i like Eid. It means at least 3 conescutive days off.

And i also like Easter.

Basically the moral of the story is my favourite holidays are those in which i get consecutive days off.

Easter. First of all, to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. Then because spring is just around the corner (or we're already into it) and it's also a day of feasting after the prior season of mortification, preparation, and fasting.
