I really try to and have. It's so weird how we sometimes, not always, but sometimes have to go through something really tough, to come out better off in the long run.
It's that old saying.. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger...
I had a tough upbringing that could have sent me into drugs or becoming a fucking criminal, but I persevered and thrived as well as my siblings which makes me so happy. I think having siblings saved my life and possibly there's too.
I remember having a really difficult day around 9 or so with my Dad, and I pulled my siblings into a huddle and I made a promise... I would do anything to protect them and I begged them in the same breath, but we have to stick together. We pinky promised and I told them we're best friends forever no matter what.
Even my 6 yr old little brother at the time sadly understood me. We're all in our 40s now, still best friends, live close to each other, love each other, do anything for each other, and now they have kids that will never know what we went through, and live such amazing lives.
I decided not to have kids but my 6 nephews are the joy of my life. It's like watching what our lives could have been. Watching them thrive, learn good lessons, becoming good human beings, without horrible parenting, has made me have faith again that we can control our own fate. We can get through more than we give ourselves credit for as long as we never give up trying.
Yes. I try to find a use for everything I experience. Failure and hardship can teach you some valuable lessons. Or you can wallow in self pity and learn nothing
But using those bad experiences requires introspective thought, perseverance, determination, and hard work. In return your mind is redirected away from your woes and towards something productive.
Yeah of course. Every challenge builds resilience. OOOH! Actually, there's an AMAZING chart that I learned from a guy not too long ago. Hang on, I'll look for it and post it here.

The version I usually use with clients is for job-related cycles, but this one is based on a "grief and integration" model. The focus is on integrating what we've learned to come out of a challenge stronger and more resilient.
I think you're kinda forced to do that if you want to see actual change in your life.
Otherwise you might be heading towards a new low in the future!
Very true. It’s likely going to be new highs we reach or new lows we reach, depending on how we respond to difficult seasons in life.

In life facing the sunshine & letting the shadows cast behind you is the way to go. As for points I feel if you use the low points in your life to better yourself the second you look at the high points in your life you will lower yourself. As for me I take things at them come & go from there & move forward no matter what.
@Abbycado This is my lowest point... my only brother died in January, of Cancer. Not sure how to move UP from this low point.
Always. Many of my lowest points in life helped me grow the most as a person. When life gets hard, we can either let ourselves be crushed and be pushed deeper into darkness… or strive to rise up and overcome our challenges. If we push through, we will always come out stronger. The tough moments and seasons in life is the crucible that allows us to forge ourselves anew — better than ever, if we choose to persevere through it all.
I'm more of a person who just lives and struggles through the rough times. Keeps my head down and power through it.
Was I'm on the other side, then I have to reevaluate my situation. Move forward. Wait for the next bad time.
But I try very hard to have fun in-between the rough times.
I don't believe or trust self-improvement, I believe in self-difference, if that makes sense in English. So, I have never been better or worse, I have just seen different facets of me, over time.
Well, I had health issues, financial issues, and love issues, and I always managed to come back, sometimes I surprise myself.
Some people's entire lives are low points. I won’t name names. XD
So true ;)
Is there an insinuation that all my points are low here? Lolss
i think I do use them to learn from and “grow” as a person
😂😂😂
Hahaha whatever!

i am inherently very self-destructive, so its a battle lol
Yeah i would say so. i wouldn't be who i am today without really learning the lessons of my past.
Every pain, scar leaves a chapter
I read mine closely and that's how I become better there is always a clue
Aren't we all supposed to learn from our past mistakes? That's what makes us better people

All the time. To remind where I was. And how far I have come.
At the end of the day you can grow from dealing with a low point or any type of adversity
