Does it matter if your car gets a chip/peeling from the sun on the trunk of back of it?

I don't know if it is just Dodge, but I had one where the peeling of the topcoat started on the roof. Then it started to proceed down the door pillars, and finally it went to hell in a hand basket. At the time I didn't have the money for a new topcoat. ☹

It will get worse. Get a spray can of top coat from an auto parts store and hit it so that it will be stopped.

Just get some canned spray pain and touch it up. It's a 15-year-old car i would not waste money on a new paint job just a quick touch up to prevent rust.

my car is almost 30 years old. Its paint is flawless. It was built on the same line as the Cadillac Seville. They had a multi-part paint system that doesn't burn off. Not a single hint on mine.

@Sal_Monella automobile manufacturers don't use good paint anymore. It's a violation of the environmental laws or they are too cheap to use it

Paint peeling is like a cancer. Once it starts you can't stop it without applying a new topcoat. Had it happen to my car I had.
