I might have not helped my father and brothers do a project. Messed up my whole life due to a freak accident. However four years later meet a perfect sweet girl, latter became my wife. I might have never found her if it wasn’t for the horrible accident.

I wish I never left my first “real” job out of university. I had been promoted, given stock options, and I had my own team at a young age. When my wife needed to move, I left that job. Twenty years on, I have never made as much money again, before those options. Had I stayed, the options would have been worth $11nm.

i screwed up in that my BBB ex-wife never really loved me. I sacrificed everything, but she left me anyway as soon as she could support herself. She worked in the Obama administration then Goldman Sachs. Now she teaches at an elite university. She abandoned me, and I lost it. Like many young men, I had my whole life outside of work based on her.

I managed to not commit suicide (the primary cause of death for divorced men), but I wish I had let her go when she demanded that I quit my job. Better yet, I wish I never married her.

so many men like me want to get married young, but many bad women abuse this desire (men may do the same, but I do not have experience understanding that.

Here's the thing about the fantasy of altering your past. The "Butterfly Effect". If you alter even 1 decision or omit 1 action, you potentially alter everything downstream in your timeline. It becomes a cascading effect of altered events and outcomes that you can't predict. You live an entirely different timeline.

You choose a different college.

You never meet your wife.

Your kids are never born.

You end up on a business trip you didn't take before the altered time line. Your plane crashes. You die at age 40.

I think we all have things we would change if we could but we only want to change it because now through knowledge and awareness we didn't have then, we think we would have acted different. For me the key it's thinking about what I would change is telling myself now I know how to do it right. We all make mistakes the only difference in the most successful people in this world and everyone else is the best of us use failure to get better. Thinking about what you would do different in the past is just the human instinct to be better.

of recent memory a young woman approached me asking for a dollar. rather than ignoring her, as I was deep into conversation with my wife, I'd have paused and engaged with her to figure out what she really needed. By ignoring her, I lost an opportunity to reach someone for Christ and leaves me wondering what happened in her life.

Nothing.. to change one thing of my past would mean to change every decision since then. I don't want to change myself or the decisions I've made. Good or bad.
