What is your favorite cat breed?

This is a VERY loaded question that is likely to get me into trouble with a certain cat, but... I love all cats, but I'm quite partial to -

1. Scottish Folds

2. Bengals

I’ve loved to bits every cat i’ve ever had, but my Siamese hold a special place in my heart. They were smart, loyal, affectionate; almost doglike. I’m looking at options for medium sized big cats, exotics. If it’s untenable, i might go Maine Coon. My cat that transitioned from my childhood to young adulthood with me was an all black long hair who was also very smart. He taught himself to use the toilet. No joke. He would even play with the flush handle, but he never did flush on his own that i know of. His passing is what led to me getting my first Siamese. Niki would play fetch with me with wadded up paper. I discovered this by accident when i was writing a research paper in my room. I threw away a scratch paper, but missed the trash can. A few seconds later he was sitting on the bed looking at me and the wad of paper he had retrieved. 😂😂😂
I threw it again and then we had a game! I also had to buy a key rack because of Niki. He would steal and stash shiny things, including keys. I was late for work a few times because my keys had disappeared by the time i caught him stealing them. Ell oh ell!
I would take any kind of cat, really. I just want a big snuggly one.

I am interested in Bengals too. I hear they are very active and destructive if not given a lot of attention to training and exercise.

I have had ten cats in the past 40 years. Though they are all special, my Siamese mixes were/are my heart cats. On a soul level. They always know my emotions and react accordingly. They are so much like German Shepherds, and half of mine were raised with them making them even more impressioned, I think this plays part. They are my fav dogs. They listen to what you explain and do what you ask. Mine have never ceases to amaze me.

My Bengal, Angel, is insistent, inquisitive, amazingly affectionate, needy, and highly active and intelligent. She eats more cat food than I thought was possible, and insists on sleeping on or next to me every night. She is so-so with other cats, except she loves Allister. When I first got her, I was worried about her huge food intake, but my vet assured me Bengals are like this due to their energy level.

She is the most interesting and loving cat I have ever had.

Does yours have cat trees? I know a lot of Bengal owners build all kinds of high ramps and things. This inspired me. I have a number of 11" boat portholes through our walls and high shelves running along the ceiling.

lime Siamese because they are so vocal and beautiful. I also have a soft heart for Tuxedo cats. They are super smart and vocal too. Mine is like my alarm in the morning; she wakes me up at 6:30 each day.

@dustybiker2 The Siamese one was vocal, but most of the time, she showed what she wanted through actions, like putting her paws around my ankles and biting me when she wanted food! Or wasn't happy about something. She was very pretty, yes. The Tuxedo one I have is more vocal than the other Siamese was. My older one died last year around this time, 23 years old. and he was very vocal when hungry. I think the Tuxedos are my favorite now.

Wonderful. 23 is an amazing life.
All of my siamese have done those physical actions too. It must truly be a breed trait. It helped save the lives of two of mine. Comforted me more times than I could count, and helped others in the house.
My tuxedo took a back seat to my siamese who just recently crossed (gutting us) she was needing so much attention. He's starting to do what she did with touching what he needs, which is really interesting. Shows he was paying attention. Cats are so much smarter than average people give them credit for.

I have always been partial to mountain lions. And they are genetically a small cat (can purr) and are the closest relative of the domestic cat.

We had an orange tabby named Cupcake when i was very young. We were pretty sure he adopted another family at some point. He would disappear for days or weeks at a time. I’d be mourning his loss and then he’d stroll back home like he owned the place. Ell oh ell!

@Chazmatazz269 my cat was locked in the next door neighbors garage for over a week. We thought he was a goner. He just went over to his feeding station, had a snack and then took a nap. My kids were overjoyed.

We always let the cats out in the yard. One day a coyote came right up on our deck and carried poor Sammy off into the woods. My daughter found him days later in the woods behind our house. He was missing his head.

You know you really can't blame the coyote. He was just doing what coyotes do. He should blame yourself for letting that cat out of your house thinking that everything was going to be okay. It's not okay out there for cats or children or other small things. Please don't ever let a cat or a child out of the house.
