Was I wrong for hitting this girl who punched me 3 times in the face before I hit her back?

Hey GaG. My name's Tonio. So about 2 or 3 weeks ago me and some acquaintances were having a party. There were guys and there were girls. A lot of drugs were involved. I personally only took part in the weed. It was overall a relatively pleasant time more or less.

This one girl was really pissing me off though. The whole time we were there she was literally just on top of my ass. She was mocking the way I looked, the way I talked, the way I dressed. Just everything. And she was doing it constantly.

Then later on, I was literally just lying on the couch, and then she comes and punches me 3 times in the face. My face was left bruised and bleeding. Then this other guy asks to look at my face asking why it's bleeding. The girl wants to hit me more but her boyfriend holds her back.

Then I say something, she imitates me but saying it in a mocking tone and doing an obnoxious sarcastic laugh, and so then I did it, I punched her on the forehead. I couldn't hold back anymore. Then the other guys were like wow stop you just crossed a line right there, conveniently ignoring that she hit me 3 times first and left my face bruised and bleeding.

Needless to say she backed off and never approached me again for the entire rest of the party. I didn't wanna hurt her. If I wanted to I could've hit her so much harder it's not even funny. I was left with my face bruised and bleeding and she barely got a bruise on her forehead, though thankfully she backed off.

These guys saying it's wrong to hit a girl no matter what and I crossed alone, but bro, she hit me 3 times, and she hit me HARD. And I hit her only once and not even that hard. If I really wanted to get even technically I could've hit her 2 more times, as well as way harder. But I didn't.

TL;DR Basically this girl on drugs at a party punched me 3 times in the face, and then I hit her back and everyone at the party was acting like I crossed a line. Mind you she hit me hard and left my face bruised and bleeding.

Mixed feelings on this. I too don’t believe you should hit a girl. As for her punching you…. Can’t you block a punch? She might get on punch on me (Element of surprise) but that’s it.
Couldn’t her boyfriend control her? I would’ve talk to him and say calm her down or else.
It seems like there’s a bunch of things you could’ve done differently besides hitting her, but you got your point crossed and she stopped bothering you so that’s a positive.
I always do everything possible to prevent hitting a girl and most of the time very successfully.
In general, I would say guys hitting girls is a bad thing and shouldn’t happen.

Some people only understand violence. Seems like she deserved it and I’m sure nothing else would have gotten the point across to her anyway. So no, you weren’t wrong. You were defending yourself and making her understand in the only way she’s capable of understanding.
