I punched a girl in the face for kicking me in the balls, and got suspended for it?

I was at school, hanging out with my friends, and a couple of people.

A couple of girls had a habit of kicking guys in the balls over bullshit, smallest disagreements, mutual insult-throwing, or even for "fun".

I told them before, that I would someday retaliate if they kept it up. Of course they had to put it to the test. So we were standing in a circle, apparently I said something she disagreed with. Wasn't even an insult or anything.

She pretends to kick me in the balls. I tell her again, if she does that, something's gonna happen. She took it as a challenge, and gave me the hardest ******* kick in the balls I ever received. I collapse, dry heaving and throwing up.

Some of my friends are concerned, scold her, while she was laughing her ass off, while I'm trying not to cry. I had to see the nurse, and saw a urologist because she did some REAL bad damage. I told a teacher, and she got detention for it. When I came back, I saw her and she was making fun of me and I got the greatest rush of pent up emotional pain over years of her doing that to me not to mention the permanent damage she caused recently, and before I could think I punched her in the face. She collapsed with blood streaming from her nose and crying.

Her likeminded friends look like they've seen a ghost, start screaming insults at me in sheer disbelieve, and I got threatened with expulsion and got suspended for three weeks with a record.
I also got a name as a "woman-beater", as if I randomly attacked gentle, harmless girls. A friend I confided in also exaggerated and spread the word about the injury I sustained, and rumours started spreading that I was sterile.

While she and her friends stopped doing that after the incident, even now many people still remember me for my involvement, and my chances at ever reproducing has also been greatly affected.

Was I right to have reacted the way that I did?

But for all it's worth, I think you gave her what she deserved. I personally would've just slapped her, but the main idea is the message you sent saying that you won't stand for being abused and treated like a piece of meat or a punching bag. And anyone who's honest and knows that there are 2 sides to every story will be willing to listen to you and explain yourself.

At the end of the day, both of you are in the wrong as far as rules go, but this is just another example of the extreme double standards society has for women and men. And that's why I say you did the right thing as a person who respects himself and I respect you for it. Just try to not cause any damage next time, just to avoid getting yourself in trouble. A slap will be more easily forgiven by the authorities, but being called a worthless bitch and getting bitch slapped will hurt the girl far more than your punch could because it'd shatter her image of being untouchable and bring her down a notch.

But yeah, all in all, I think your only fault was causing damage by punching her. Other than that, I believe you had every right to retaliate and stand up for yourself.

Bottom line is: the same rules should apply for both. He just punched her, at worst giving her a broken nose, which literally heals up within a month. That's the absolute worst thing his punch did. Her full force kick caused permanent injuries to his sexual organs. In case you didn't know, literally every trauma to the testicles slightly reduces their functionality due to Wolff's law, which is basically the reason why your bones grow thicker at the place they were injured. The whole body works like that, including the testicles, and the hardened testicular tissue loses its function. Too much total trauma to the testicles and they lose all function, making the person infertile. And you can argue that she couldn't possibly have known that, but ignorance doesn't dismiss responsibility for her actions.

Bottom line is that she caused him permanent damage, while he gave her a bloody nose. If it was the other way around, he'd be in jail and she'd be considered a brave hero for finally standing up to her abuser. These are the double standards of today's society and you are part of the problem why they still exist, because you agree with such unjustly harsher treatment of men.
