Do you keep a journal?

Question

I've started one a few times here and there but never been consistent with it for whatever reasons. Besides, it occurred to me, how many times in movies and stuff do you see the bad guy gets caught 'cuz the good guys find evidence in their journal. "Oh look! Here's the evidence right here in their journal! They did it!" Movie ends. Credits roll.

So, I decided if I start a journal again I'll start it like this:

"Dear diary, I didn't do it."

Dear Diary, No one must know where I hid the evidence but Ill write it down here so I dont forget — Dear Diary, No one must know where I hid the evidence but I'll write it down here so I don't forget

I have a daily planner that I read down my jobs and stuff that I did at each job

As for my personal stuff I don't really but I do have a tablet paper and i write down a lot of things if I think of it and I'd like what I said or was thinking i do write it down i don't keep a diary or anything like that

Why does someone writes diaries about his life? Are you expecting someone to find it when you're gone so they make a movie about you? 🤣

I have kept a journal for 10 years or so pretty consistently. The fact that I also use it to keep up with my Icelandic helps with the consistent part since my life is by far exiting enough to journal almost daily for so many years.

I am constantly writing notes, thoughts, and lyrical ideas, but it is not really a journal.

When i was in college i kept a journal. I had a very challenging major and struggled with my studies, I also had to sweat paying tuition every semester and worked a crappy part time job. I had a girlfriend that lived 1500 miles away and I had to live with my mother who was very difficult.

My mother paid somebody to clean out her attic and my journals were thrown away with the rest of my stuff. .

I do, and I used to write in it once a day, but staying consistent with that burns you out. Now I just write it in on significant occasions, times I don't want to forget, and times I'm really down and want to dump all my negative emotions.

No, I never have. But thinking back at my childhood, and up until my twenties, I really wish I would have kept one, just to have time references as to when I did certain things.

I used to and was a little anal about it but as I've gotten older I find less things worth recording for posterity. So its not an everyday thing
